The Love of My Life

I have been taking photos of couples and families all summer and the love I've seen has been amazing. This makes me think about the love of my life. My wonderful husband Daniel. We met in middle school if you can believe it. He was a 6th grader and I was an 8th grader. We didn't like each other at all, in fact, he used to prank call my house and call me some not so nice names. I held a grudge and when he finally came to the high school I was not happy one bit when he tried to hang out with my friends and try out for the play that I was also trying out for. However, I couldn't deny that he was kinda cute and we really needed guys for the play so I cooled my jets and let him do his thing. He got the part and so did I so we were stuck together. We were also both in the band and so we not only spent school days together but also our evenings at away games and drama practice. I fell for this guy and being the "older" woman I asserted myself and kissed him first. The rest is history. He for sure has a completely different story to tell about us but this is how I remember it and I have the blog! We have been together now for over 12 years and Monday is our 9th wedding anniversary. I can honestly say that I am more in love with him today than I was when we got married and I continue to fall more and more deeply for this amazing man. We have two beautiful daughters and are in the process of building our first house. Life is going so wonderfully right now so it is very fitting that I have been taking photos of people in the middle of their own love stories.

I LOVE my job and capturing real people in REAL love is my passion. Thanks to all the families that trusted me enough with their stories to let me tell them through photography.

Derek and Amanda tie the knot!

I had an amazing time on Saturday at a beautiful wedding in the woods. Derek and Amanda were so much in love and you could tell by their photos. I loved the lighting all through the day.

The lighting was amazing with the overcast sky and the canopy of trees keeping things nice and soft. I love days like this! Amanda and Derek had a vision and they knew exactly what they wanted and I believe that Jen and I captured it beautifully. I can't wait for my other weddings this summer. A day like this makes me happy to be a photographer.

My New Blog!

This is my first blog so bear with me. I have been super busy lately getting my photography business off the ground. I've made a website, a facebook page, numerous craigslist ads, and now a blog! This has been a wonderful adventure.

I got into photography when my beautiful children were born. I have two daughters. Parker and Lillian. They are my life. I also have an awesome husband named Danny. We met in middle school and have been married for almost 9 years. I love him more every single day. My family is the most important thing to me.

My sister, Jen Stovern (www.jenstovernphotography.com) has been sooooo helpful in getting me started. I'm sure she's tired of all the questions about web design and photography but she never complains. She is very talented and she inspires me everyday.

I will be posting more in the next few days. Stay tuned and thank you for supporting me in this new endevour.
